Haul: Boyfriend Edition

Entire thing - click for larger image. Sorry for the slight wobble, I was too excited.
As you may or may not know, my 3 year relationship with my boyfriend had just turned long distance, and it's looking to be long distance for the next few years. In an effort to pamper me and make sure that I think of him daily, he bought me makeup and brushes! Not just any makeup, but makeup that I'll probably definitely use daily, like the Lorac Pro, with it's huge number of neutrals, or the Lorac Unzipped, or the Nude 'Tude, yet another neutral palette that I'd probably reach for, for my work looks. He's also gotten me Real Technique brushes, which has GOT TO BE foresight, I don't deem my current brushes worthy to touch slightly higher-end shadows..

Other than those wonderful palettes and silky-soft brushes, he's also bought me 'Why Not Zoidberg?' by Shiro Cosmetics, an indie brand that I've wanted to try forever, but didn't because of the slightly high shipping charge. It's definitely in a color I'd reach for everyday, and I couldn't be happier.

He also remembered that my favorite lip balm was the eos in Sweet Mint, and bought one for me, what a sweetheart!

The real star of the show, however, is the blush he got for me. In hindsight, he must have known about this because of how much I had been gushing over it. I think I've probably spent days staring at it and marveling at it's beauty.

It's Les Merveilleuses de Ladurée, whose name I butcher everytime I try to say it, and it's absolutely gorgeous. A slightly translucent container with blush that is in the shape of actual rose petals. The scent that it gives off is very rose like also, with a splash of old lady, but I don't mind at all. I'm satisfied to just stare at it.

The cute box! Click for larger image.
He packed the entire thing in a gift wrapped box, with hand drawn pictures, which is impressive, because he used to always ask me to wrap things for him.

All in all, he has probably purchased everything that I'd ever want, makeup-wise. I no longer require anymore neutral palettes, and since I don't reach for colorful palettes very often, I'm satisfied with my large elf/coastal scents palettes. This gift really reminds me of how much he cares and thinks about me and what I like, and I'm really glad, and happy, and just everything. If you're reading this, thank you, I love you, and you know you really shouldn't have you big silly man!

Thank you for joining me in this emotional haul.

  1. Aww! What a sweetie! If you don't mind me asking, where did you boyfriend move to? I was in a long distance relationship for about two years before my boyfriend moved over to be with me ^_^

    1. He stayed in the area where we went to college, while I moved back down to southern california. There's about 500 miles between us, hope he'll move over like yours!

  2. Wow, your boyfriend is seriously good with the beauty purchases! I'm impressed. After three years of living together, mine is finally at the point where he'll admit that facial moisturizer and hand cream *might* be worth using, but I don't think he could name a single brand name, lol.

    1. I'm also pretty impressed, I managed to get him to tag along on some of my beauty shopping trips to Ulta and Sephora and I guess he picked up what I really liked and didn't like from there.. I'm sure your boyfriend excels in other areas!

  3. How do you like the unzipped palette? I've been wanting it for a long time but im afraid that the pink undertone of the shadows will make my monolids look puffy and unflattering! what do you think?

    1. Sorry for the huge delay, I've been really busy. I haven't found it to be too pink for me, I actually am a big fan of the palette, I use the lightest matte color for my browbone and inner corner and like it more than the sparklier shadows, since those are the ones that make my monolids look puffy.
